Last year we decided Sam was still too small to really enjoy a pumpkin patch, besides the fact that by the time we thought to do it, it was too darn cold! So this year we decided that it was a first that we had to do.
Our first Pumpkin patch visit was in Hayden. We met our friends Amanda (who is a fantastic photographer), and her daughter Lilly early so we could enjoy the morning before it got too hot. The girls always love playing together, and Amanda and I love getting to hang out too, so it was the perfect opportunity spend time together, get outside, and to get some amazing pictures. We got to go on a covered wagon hay ride out to the pumpkin patch, and Sam and Lilly really seemed to enjoy themselves and each got a cute little pumpkin and even “posed” for some pictures. Lilly wasn’t a fan of the loud chickens or the hay, but for the most part they smiled and laughed. Amanda and I kept laughing as we were chasing after them, or saying “go, go, go” to speed things along. We had a wonderful morning but the heat got to be too much so we had to take an indoor shopping trip afterward. Thank you again Amanda for these beautiful shots!
Our second Pumpkin Patch visit was to Tate Farm in Meridianville. Sam’s Mimi and Granddad wanted to go with us and enjoy a day at the Cotton Pickin’ Pumpkin Patch, and I’m so glad we did. This was a much bigger deal and had a ton of stuff to do. We looked around, Sam got to swing and play in a bin of dried corn. They had a huge playground with slides that she kept wanting to go down. We even ran into a new friend from the library who has also joined our Mom and Tot group. We got to take a hayride to pick out a pumpkin, since Daddy was with us we got a much larger one this time, and only paid $5 for it! We got a bite to eat for lunch, where daddy bought Sam the sweetest little pumpkin sippy cup. Then we went through a hay maze, where we let Sam lead the way most of the time. She did pretty good for a 20 month old. After that we decided to try out the petting zoo, Sam loves animals and kept going in and out of the pins where you got to pet piglets, a sheep, a few goats, and some bunnies, and even got to see a calf. Our last thing to do before Sam started to drift off to sleep was a tractor/train ride. Daddy rode with her, and she proves to be quite the daredevil so I don’t think we will have any issues getting her to ride rides at Disney in the spring! It was the perfect day! Afterward we even went to the toy store where Sam got her picture made with Brobee from YoGabbaGabba! We love fall!

Thank you for everything you do for us. Thank you for fall and for the time we get to spend with each other in the beauty of our surroundings. Thank you for our friends and family and for the memories that we are able to make with them, and for the memories we are able to capture in pictures. Thank you for my sweet precious daughter, and for her enjoyment of all of these amazing things. Thank you for reminding me of the childlike innocence that we all once had. Thank you so much for all that you do, please continue to bless our family and all of those around us.
