Ben is 2 months old!

Woah! Time can slow down if it wants to! How in the world has it been 2 months already? I mean the sleep deprivation makes it feel like it’s been way longer, but I just can’t believe how big my baby is getting! It’s amazing how much changes in such a short period of time, but he went from just being a cute little squishy human to my precious smiley sweet boy!

Ben is smiling all the time now, especially at his sister, and makes new noises every day to get our attention instead of just crying. He really is so happy, despite the reflux, and usually only cries if he needs a diaper, is hungry, is spitting up, or that block of time at night that the colic takes over. He eats every 2-4 hours and loves his swing. Yesterday I thought the swing had died and I wanted to cry because he enjoys it so much. I am really enjoying being his momma and watching him and Sam together just melts my heart.

Today at his 2 month check up Ben weighed 11lb15oz (50%), was 23 1/4 inches long (75%) and his head measured 40 1/2 cm (90%). Healthy as can be! Everything else looks great too and he is meeting all of his other milestones. We have already started tummy time so the only thing we are changing is the dosage of his reflux meds. Since his sick check a little over 2 weeks ago he has gained almost 3lbs, and has been a bit fussier the last several days so his pediatrician felt that we needed to increase his medication. If I don’t notice a difference in a week then I’ll call back and we will switch meds all together. He had to have 3 shots today for vaccinations, a necessary evil, and while he cried during the shots he was calm as could be in less than a minute. I held his arms and Sam stroked his head and gave him his paci. As soon as I picked him back up he was all smiles as if nothing had happened. I gave him his first dose of tylenol to help with the soreness and after nursing him we headed home in the yucky weather. I’m just hoping he feels ok this week since Patrick will be in Seattle and I’m on my own.
